Welcome to the ARINC 818 Academy!

Great River Technology developed this site to complement the other GRT resources that you’ve had access to in the past, and we have now combined these resources with video instruction on ARINC 818. On this site, you will find both basic and in-depth GRT product information and tutorials.

Academy Structure:

Public - Entirely free and open to everyone to gain valuable knowledge on ARINC 818.

Private - Includes member access videos for existing customers & partners. These are comprehensive videos to further support you in specific products and processes.

We’re here to support your programs to help simplify the process for you and to lower the overall cost of your projects.  If you cannot find the support you need from the videos listed below, please reach out to us by filling out a support ticket at the bottom of this page.

ARINC 818 was developed by Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, Thales, GRT, and many others with the primary goal of standardizing display interfaces & reducing cost.

Before ARINC 818, the development of new aircraft was hindered by the complexity of displays having individual unique and proprietary interfaces, which dramatically increased development costs. Stemming from a desire for standardization by both Boeing and Airbus, the ARINC 818 committee was born.

This process of developing the ARINC 818 specification took 3 years!

As part of the committee, GRT was at the table developing ARINC 818 from its conception, and in October 2006 the first version of the ARINC 818 specification was released. It has now been revised 3 times & we’ve continued to be deeply involved in each revision!

We’ve helped design more than 100 mission-critical ARINC 818 capable systems and offer the only comprehensive product suite for the entire lifecycle of your ARINC 818 enabled equipment. We’re excited to support you in this process and are here to help you get your project off the ground!
