Designing your ICD

Designing your ICD (Interface Control Document) is crucial in your development of all ARINC enabled equipment. It ensures interoperability among all equipment that is designed according to that ICD. It also reduces the implementation magnitude. Since ARINC 818 is very flexible the ICD allows you to implement ONLY what you need. This makes it quicker and easier to certify. Additionally, it defines video format(s) for the project, embedded data (ancillary data), video time & frame timing, and synchronization class. It is shared among all project members and GRT offers ICD templates & timing calculators. This video will walk you through designing your ICD.
